Big Update

It's been a little while. I hope all is well in the blogosphere. I have a few things I'd like to discuss.

1. Michael Jackson's Thriller album is fuckin' awesome. Dan and I listened to it on cassette in his car and it ruled. I'm absolutely going to get a hold of a hard copy of this CD. It is dance rock at it's finest. Everyone should go listen to "Beat It" or "Billy Jean" and just feel good.

2. I'm going to be making a musical investment this weekend. Thanks to Craigslist, you can find instruments and equipment for dirt cheap...Sure enough, I'm getting a hold of a very nice microphone, adaptors and a tape deck. I'm extremely excited. I'll finally be able to do some good mixes. Music to come soon.

3. http://www.hollisterco.com/hol/homepage.html ..... I'm not sure what exactly I'm getting myself into, but I'm nervous and excited and well, it should be fun.

4. My graphic design teacher is having us make awareness posters for the crisis in Darfur. I didn't realize how serious it was until I had to do a project on it. Basically, the Sudanese government is allowing militant groups to kill non-arab tribes/civilians as well as the rebel groups that fight back against them. It's really intense stuff, and I'm very surprised/disappointed that the UN hasn't accomplished much in stepping in, just ceasefires and empty threats.

Anyways, we were supposed to base our ideas off a famous political artist named James Victore. I came up with this:

Take it easy everyone.

A few things.

1. The band that is currently tickling my fancy at the moment are Born Ruffians. I'm a big fan of 'I need a life' and 'Foxes mate for life."

2. While I was at Super Stop 'N Shop yesterday, 'Someday' by The Strokes came on the radio. It made my day. I said out loud "I'm going to blog about this."

3. Last evening Mia and I saw Rachel Getting Married. It ruled. Anne Hathaway plays a junkie going through rehab, who takes a weekend to attend her sisters wedding. Apparently it won awards and stuff. I highly suggest it to anyone who can get to the South Hills Mall for a $2 movie, otherwise just wait for the DVD i guess.

4. Right now I'm reading Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. Well over Hunter S. Thompsons long career as an author, he has teamed up with friend and artist Ralph Steadman for illustrations of books/articles/etc. He also rules. His style is right up my alley. I think someday when I have a place to live and decorate, I'm going to hang a work by Ralph Steadman on the wall.

5. Finally, for my graphic design class we had to make advertisements for Kidrobot toys promoting their store locations. Finally have a reason to do that rising sun nonsense. What do you guys think?

Adios.
